The Ultimate 3-Day Vegas Itinerary
What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Or so they say. Here, I plan on revealing all my secrets… and everyone else’s. I’m not going to lie, I was a little scared before coming to Las Vegas. I’m truthfully not a huge partier and the only information I have about Vegas comes from The Hangover. We were only able to dedicate three days to this trip but I think it’s actually going to turn out perfectly. I mean, you can only party and gamble so many days in a row, right?
I’ve got to admit, that first night after we explored the hotel and got ourselves settled, we were supposed to see The Blue Man group. I’ve always wanted to see that show, but I was so tired that I just couldn’t keep my eyes open. I decided to call it a night so that I’d be refreshed for tomorrow. I know, I know, a little lame and not very Las Vegasy but a girl needs her beauty sleep.
That evening wasn’t a complete bust though! We went to an amazing restaurant right inside the Wynn Hotel called Lakeside, which had a gorgeous view of the lake and the waterfall light show. Just make sure to call ahead and make a reservation well in advance so that you get to sit outside! It’s a great restaurant for the first night, and a particularly easy trek home if you’re staying in The Wynn. They were even sweet enough to give us a complimentary dessert for our anniversary. So yummy! Definitely a pricy place but it’s Las Vegas… what do you expect? Just indulge and enjoy.

Good morning world wanderers! After a very restful night, I was ready to take Vegas head on. We decided that because it was our first trip to Las Vegas, what we really wanted to do that day was to explore The Las Vegas Strip. I’m sure there’s a ton of cool stuff to do outside of The Strip but since we only had three days and had never experienced it, it was a priority.

To satisfy my desire for Italy, we visited The Venetian hotel first. We spent a few hours walking around, visiting shops, and exploring. It’s very easy to get lost and I recommend that you do! Admire the canal, get gelato, visit the stores, it’s really up to you. After hours of exploring we got hungry pretty quickly and stumbled across Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer. I know… unexpected choice considering it’s not unique to Las Vegas and my boyfriend is vegetarian. Still, the food was good, it was outside and had a gorgeous view of the canal. The best part… the milkshakes! Now don’t get me wrong. I’m usually a health nut, but in this case, I made an exception. They have just about every kind of shake you could think of (you even have the option of spiking it). I chose the Cookies ’N Cream Supreme and the Vegan Burger & Quinoa bowl. It was the perfect energy booster to kick us to the next place.
After we got our fix of The Venetian, we decided we had to see Caesar's Palace. I mean, it’s famous after all and we wanted to see what all the hype was about. Like The Venetian, we explored the hotel on our own time, stopped in shops, and checked out the casino. It is a palace though! There’s no way we got through even half of it, it’s so big. It’s beautifully ornate with lots of attention to details in the architecture. I wish we could have stayed longer.
If you don’t know me by now, I’m a big napper. I need naps during the day if I’m going to function late at night, and it’s Vegas so of course, I was going to be out late. We went back to the hotel for nap time. I highly recommend nap time. Even if it’s just a 20 minutes!
For dinner, we made reservations at a restaurant in The Wynn Hotel called, Coasta Di Mare. I highly recommend that you call a few days ahead and request to eat outside under one of the cabanas. It really makes the experience special. The menu is very authentic Italian seafood with not much variation, so if that’s not your cup of tea, then I’d suggest considering a different place. The view was stunning, the food was great, and they were very accommodating to my boyfriend’s vegetarian restrictions. They also gave us a complimentary anniversary dessert!
We went to XS nightclub in the Wynn hotel. The nightclub is connected to the Encore Beach club, so it has an outdoor section in addition to the large indoor section. The night that we went, the Chain Smokers were performing and they were fantastic! To say it was crowded in the club would be an understatement. Expect to bump into people, expect liquid spilled on you, expect deafening music, and expect pricy drinks. But if you can get over all of that, it’s actually a lot of fun! Go to see and be seen, go to meet fun people, and go to have a good time! It’s a very nice, upscale night club! I’ve been to a fair amount of clubs in NYC and I’d say it’s easily up there as one of the best I’ve ever been to. It’s much bigger and more extravagant than the NYC clubs. It’s fun to go as a group, so if you’re in Vegas with your girls for a bachelorette party, or you have friends in town, hit them up! I do warn - it REALLY helps to be on the guest list. To do this, you have to know someone. I know, it sucks and it’s not fair but that’s how it works. So if you know a promoter, the bouncer, the DJ, or you’re famous, now would be the time to pull that card. It’s the difference between waiting 10 minutes and waiting two hours. If you don’t have any connections, then get there early.
I feel like this is self-explanatory but based on how many drunk people I saw trying to get into the club, I feel like I need to say it. Don’t be that trashy drunk person spilling their drink all over the nice Wynn carpet with their dress riding so far up that everyone can see your underwear. It’s just embarrassing and lowers your chances of getting into the club. There. I said it.
A helpful pointer. As sexist as it is, the women to men ratio does affect your chances of getting in. Women will get in easier, so go ahead and dress up! It could help your chances.
Lastly, just put an ounce of thought into this before you start drinking. How are you getting home? Since we were staying in The Wynn, XS was a very logical nightclub choice. Make sure you have a game plan so that everyone stays safe and wakes up with no ragrets. I hope you all got that reference otherwise, I just look like a bad speller.
Stay safe and have fun!
We really wanted to try Omnia nightclub. It’s supposed to be epic but we never got around to it. Comment below your Omnia experiences!
After a very late night, and possibly a very hungover morning, (we’re in Vegas, let’s just call it like it is) nothing sounded better than sleeping in and room service. Wow, The Wynn Hotel did not disappoint. They had every kind of coffee, tea, juice, and even smoothie you could imagine. They had pastries, cold breakfast, hot breakfast, fresh everything, and any kind of omelet or pancake you could think of. Needless to say, we were happy campers. I wish I had taken a picture but we ate it so fast that by the time I remembered, it was gone. Order at least one room service breakfast during your stay. There is nothing more relaxing than breakfast in bed on your own time.
After we were fully satiated, we decided to take advantage of the extraordinary pool. There’s a very large communal pool on the ground level, which is open to all Wynn Hotel guests. Above, overlooking the communal pool, are two smaller VIP pools that are only available to VIP members (aka people staying in The Tower Suites). The perks were extra room and extra privacy, which were nice considering it was so busy when we were there. It was so hot, hitting temperatures well above 100 degrees, but by the pool it was very comfortable. The lounge chairs, that are not already taken by another guest, have rolled up towels on the end. I claimed two chairs under an umbrella and was immediately given a menu by an attendant. Their drink options were fantastic but the second I saw the tequila cocktail served out of a mini watermelon, I knew that was the one. We spent about 4 hours by the pool but truthfully, I could have spent much longer. It was pure paradise.
There are private cabanas by the pool. As tempting as they are, they’re close to $800 per day. As much as I sometimes wish I were Serena van Der Woodsen, I’m not, and the idea of blowing $800 on an overpriced tent seemed ridiculous. I vote, skip and opt for the lounge chairs instead.
I’m personally not a big Picasso fan but for all my fans out there, I have the most amazing restaurant for you! It’s fittingly called Picasso and is located in the Bellagio Hotel. It has many original works of Picasso displayed throughout the restaurant. My personal favorite part though is that it’s located right on the edge of the famous Bellagio fountains! So we got to watch the fountain show over and over again during the course of our dinner. It was such a romantic spot, and one of the coolest restaurants I’ve ever been to. The dinner itself was great but truthfully isn’t what I remembered most about the whole experience. The dinner is a prix fixe menu and comes with a lot of food but it’s all presented so beautifully and is so delicious that you shouldn’t have a problem. The dessert was top notch and they too were even sweet enough to give us a complimentary anniversary dessert. So many complimentary desserts on our trip! I HIGHLY recommend calling ahead and asking to sit outside. It’s obviously the best place to see the fountains and greatly enhances the experience. Quick Tip! Dress code is elegant for ladies and at least a nice button down for men (jacket encourage but not required).
It was our last night in Vegas, and no trip to Vegas is complete without trying your hand at the gambling tables. We decided to gamble right in the Wynn hotel. It had good tables and wasn’t as crazy busy as Caesar’s Palace or The Bellagio. Given that both my boyfriend and I have never gambled a day in our lives we figured we better start at the newbie table. We found a completely empty table playing blackjack with a low minimum. The dealer was so kind and slowly explained the rules. We managed to make a profit and carried on to the next table.
This dealer was so sweet and he started to take such a liking to us that as we were about to leave, he encouraged us not to play anymore. He said the way gambling works is that the odds are always in the dealer’s favor. So no matter how many times you play, unless you’re just crazy lucky that one time, you’re going to come out short. He said he’s seen people lose fortunes in this gambling room. Be smart and set a limit for yourself!
We played the room and while we lasted for a while, we ultimately lost the money we had decided to use for gambling. But hey, we had fun while doing it! It’s definitely something you should try at least once, even if you’re not an experienced gambler.
While we wanted to try another nightclub, we had an early flight the next morning and decided to be responsible adults. Can’t wait to come back though! Stay tuned for more Vegas tips and gossip.
