The Best Little Hole In The Wall
If you’re a New Yorker, then you’ll know what I mean by “a hole in the wall”. We’re talking off the beaten path, you could walk right by it and not even notice kind of restaurant. We had heard about this restaurant through a source that I will not disclose (Global Gossip Girl never reveals her sources), and we were on a mission to find it! We went on a particularly rainy night, which made the hunt even more dramatic. We knew we were close, and after walking back down the same cobblestone street a third time, we finally found it. It’s called Ziryab, and it’s a tiny, old building that holds probably no more than 20 customers at a time. Ziryab describes itself as a Mediterranean fusion tapas restaurant and I’d say that description is pretty spot on.

The food was some of the best I’ve ever had! More often than not, these hole in the wall restaurants are the best quality ones. The olive, cheese, and nut platter was our favorite. We even ended up ordering a second one! I’d suggest calling and making a reservation in advance just because it is so small. Go hunt this one down. It’s worth it! Happy hunting.
